HOW TO DO THE READING
MANY OF YOU MAY BE WONDERING: "GREAT, NOW I KNOW TO DO THE READING, BUT WHAT IS THE MOST BENEFICIAL WAY TO READ IN MR. BAH'S CLASS?"
GREAT QUESTION. HERE ARE THE STEPS YOU NEED TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR READING TIME.
STEP 1: READ!
HELPFUL TIP: Sometimes the number of pages you have to read seems like to much to do in a short time period.. In order to tackle these large assignments, I recommend treating your reading assignment like a race. You wouldn't want to exert all your energy at one point, and therefore you must pace yourself so that the reading does not pile up on you near the due date. I recommend taking out your homework planner the day the reading is assigned, and saying to yourself: "I have 'x' amount of pages to read, and 'y' amount of days, so therefore I should read 'z' amount of pages per day". Here's a little math formula for this: X/Y=Z. Simply take the amount of pages you have to read, divide it by the number of days you have, and voila! You have the answer to how may pages you should read per day.
STEP 2: TAKE NOTES/ANNOTATE:
HELPFUL TIP: Here are things to take notes on:
-Themes
-Main events in the novel
-Make a character list (very important!)
-Relationships between characters
STEP 3: COME PREPARED FOR A QUIZ EVERY DAY:
HELPFUL TIP: Make sure you have your notes ready for every class! Mr. Bah often gives pop quizzes that are hard to do if you have not done the reading/taken notes. There will be several open note tests/quizzes Mr. Bah's class.
